Say Salve to Laura Sieurello….once she will take over her parents’ grocery store on Lampedusa, Italy
Lampedusa surely is Italian, but it isn’t Italy. It is an island beyond the map’s edge, where North Africa meets Rome. The people are charming to say the least and even the sharks are poets here
The island has a wild landscape and the fauna and flora are similar to those of North Africa. The beaches are white and the richly populated sea is crystal clear. By the way, it isn’t tourism that enables Lampedusa to live in the manner to which Italy is accustomed – it is fish. So, you can always find fresh squids, tuna, swordfish, monkfish, breams, shrimps, red mullets, just to mention a few – buon appetito.
